Analysis of NEET 2022 Exam

While all the students are blowing off heat after completing the long awaited NEET examination the faculty from YVS Institute which has over 20 years of experience in guiding students through the minefield of NEET exam, brings you the detailed analysis of this year’s exam.

Starting off with biology the general consensus seems to be that a sound command over the 11th & 12th NCERT would’ve been more than enough to nail the biology section. The question’s trend indicated that almost 1/3rd were of the statement analysis type.

This is important as it tests not only the topic at question but puts the child in a situation to navigate through each word of the statement to fish out the answer. This makes the questions not only relatively difficult but also more time taking as students need to be aware of this trend and plan accordingly. The focus towards diagrams has been more or less negligible with only one question being asked in such a manner.

The question paper also had 6 matching question, which although time taking had one option which when known eliminates all the other options. This saves time as you do not have to go through the task of matching everything. Students need to understand this trick which saves a lot of time in an otherwise lengthy paper.

The direct questions also showed a certain level of attention to detail but every such detailed questions could have been answered had the command over the two text books been of paramount importance rather than diverging into advanced text books which not only takes up precious time to revise but also induces a certain level of anxiety with the students

Too Long Didn’t Read (TLDR)

  • # Command over 11th and 12th NCERT is more or less enough to answer majority of the questions.
  • # Look for option eliminating chances in match the following questions
  • # Almost 33% of the questions were statement based and could be time taking, so prepare accordingly.
  • # Diverging into advanced text book might be a futile exercise.
